in progress

these are tinkerings. loops. snatches and smidgens of ideas, sounds, grooves. at any given moment, something described as in-progress may suddenly become done, with no discernable changes. it also may simply lie here, a dead end or an unsatisfying sidetrack.

this is the studio as it is, with the brushes dunked in turpentine, spilled paint threatening your nice shoes, and the resident artist sitting in her corner, drinking her wine and scowling at her canvas.

comments welcome. pet the chinchillas.

Airwolf "In Yer FACE" mix

alison has been wanting to do this for years: a "final" version of the Airwolf theme, using all the best elements of its various iterations, and with modern production values. it's the first output of our re-booted studio. this is the second mix, and demonstrates fantastic overuse of compression. next round i'll back off a bit.

changing paradigms - in this case from racks of keyboards and modules to an entirely computer-based system - requires that i revisit certain essentials.

a project diverges

i played a bass riff. i handed it to alison and said "give me some chords." within 48 hours, the project went somewhere over there. she even redid the bass (the funky stuff is all her). the second half of this is even crazier, man, and sits on her own workstation. i'm going to steal my original bass riff back and do something else with it.
